Inland navigation
‘Sailing green’ is high on the list of priorities of the inland waterway transportation sector. Not just to meet European directives, (future) national legislation and local environmental measures, but also because key market parties and bodies expect it, port companies encourage it, and public opinion demands it!
Currently, all eyes are mainly focussed on the update of the EU directive for Non-road Mobile Machinery (NRMM). When what is commonly referred to as the "Stage V" emission standards come into force (most likely in 2020), even stricter requirements will apply to inland navigation as regards diesel particle matter and nitrogen-oxide emissions.
Customisation
As an ship owner or shipyard, Xeamos can help you meet all the requirements related to emission reduction, even when you are still sailing with old engines. We understand that the space in the engine room of an inland navigation vessel is often limited and so we specialise in delivering customised solutions, both with regard to the required performance and the available dimensions.
Installation and check
We believe that it is important that our systems are integrated correctly. We therefore always ensure that the shipyard or yard has all the documentation required in advance. We will also check the installation work on site. Furthermore, during commissioning, we will perform different tests using professional measuring equipment. As a result, you will be able to prove that you meet all emission standards - not only on paper but also in practice.
Low TCO
The Xeamos systems have a reputation in the market for their sound and robust design and long service life. As a shipping entrepreneur, this means that you benefit from low maintenance costs and a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), as well as benefiting from the design choices we have made.
